For a regular friend group of juniors at Bonneville High School, rec basketball season was more than just any old season. On December 21, 2017, while sitting in a hot tub, Toon Squad was born. Players were added to the Snapchat group chat. They decided to go with the name Toon Squad from the movie Space Jam.
Most of the members of Toon Squad go way back together to elementary school at Riverdale Elementary. As they went through Junior High and High School, more friends were added, and more memories were made.
Junior year at Bonneville High School was when the group was officially formed. The school year included goofing off in class, lunch trips (especially to Terrace Depot), and playing football together. The summer included swimming, tubing, football camp, video games, and hanging out nearly every day.
Since graduating from High School in 2019, each member of Toon Squad has gone down their own path and lived their own adventure. Some members have gotten married, worked various jobs, served LDS missions, and gone to college. Despite this, the group remains tightly knit through their various traditions and trips.
